CLOSE\STARE Compilation es una de esas acciones que pretende generar comunidad; descubrir, escuchar, compartir y devolver. Su fin último, es una devolución. Se ha configurado a través de las votaciones de nuestros socios y colaboradores, escuchando y seleccionando entre las 28 propuestas que llegaron con la Open Call que lanzamos el mes de Abril.
La edición digital contiene los 21 artistas seleccionados para la misma y un bonus track: el DJ mix by Círculo de Sucesos aka Javier Rey que incluye todas las propuestas recibidas en la convocatoria. Los beneficios obtenidos de su venta serán donados a Médicos Sin Fronteras, ONG elegida por los ocho fotógrafos.
En la edición física el Ojo resuena, sumando las ocho miradas multiformes y diversas -prolongadas en un presente que ya fue- de NUDO (por partida doble), Mara B. Stones, Thierry Massard, Fran Barrionuevo, TJ Norris, Emilio Mula, Rocío Verdejo y Juanlu Barlow. Colaboradores generosos que para el arte de la edición física nos regalan nueve secuencias fotográficas de diez fotogramas cada una que conformarán 90 portadas únicas. 100% fotográfica, 100% secuencial (según se mire), X% figurativa… Del cristalino al oído interno todo encaja y se transforma, como en cada pestañeo.
En lo sonoro hay cierto halo en esta selección final que induce a esperar la llegada del umbral. Indefinido el momento, corre a cuenta de cada cual, dar el paso y traspasar vertiginoso el marco. Como denominador común, esa espera engancha desde los primeros segundos de cada uno de los diez temas que conforman la edición física. Avanza despacio y ondulante, Aire y condición en el sueño desvelado de una noche de verano de Ernesto Rosa, en la jungla digital en la que David Mata te mantiene con Float limit o dentro de la profunda fase REM que propone Juan. Sientes una plácida luz en los parpados con las primera notas de Simpla beleco de Erinaq y despiertas, todavía confuso, dentro de los collages acusmáticos de Elhecho y de un Pablo Casares que ya es un clásico en esta compilación. Decides marcar el ritmo y te pierdes abriendo los brazos al mundo con el piano de Ánicoc; Odagled se pone serio con el medio tempo sintético de ANMUROD mientras Lüüü traspasa su habitual marco indie-lo-fi y decanta la rítmica al jungle refrescando Sandías en la orilla. Cierra Helecho Experimentar con una vuelta a la nocturnidad, noise-guitar vía (free)-jazz y humo expirado en la conversación.
Imprescindible una vez más el trabajo en el arte y diseño de NUDO aka The Lacemaker, que además aporta dos de las secuencias. La impresión fotográfica la hemos realizado en Estudio 4.11 (Málaga). Gracias de nuevo a Rubén Suárez por ajustar el nivel sonoro de la compilación. La secuenciación de los temas en el CD ha sido realizada por kitty soul.

CLOSE\STARE Compilation is one of those actions that aims to generate community; discover, listen, share and return. Its ultimate goal is to give back. It has been configured through the votes of our members and collaborators, listening and selecting among the 28 proposals that arrived to the Open Call that we launched in April.
Digital edition contains the 21 artists selected for it and a bonus track: the DJ mix by Círculo de Sucesos aka Javier Rey that includes all the proposals received in the call. The profits obtained from its sale will be donated to Médicos Sin Fronteras, NGO chosen among the eight photographers.
In the physical edition, the Eye resonates, adding the eight multiform and diverse looks -prolonged in a present that already was- of NUDO (twice), Mara B. Stones, Thierry Massard, Fran Barrionuevo, TJ Norris, Emilio Mula, Rocío Verdejo and Juanlu Barlow. Generous collaborators that for the artwork of this edition give us nine photographic sequences of ten frames each, which will make up 90 unique covers. 100% photographic, 100% sequential (depending on how you look at it), X% figurative… From the crystalline lens to the inner ear, everything fits together and transforms, as in every blink of an eye.
In the sound there is a certain halo in this final selection that induces to wait for the arrival of the threshold. The moment is undefined, it is up to each one of us to take the step and vertiginously cross the frame. As a common denominator, this wait engages from the first seconds the ten tracks that make up the physical edition. It advances slowly and undulating, Aire y condición in the unveiled dream of a summer night of Ernesto Rosa, in the digital jungle in which David Mata keeps you with Float limit or into the deep REM phase proposed by Juan. You feel a placid light in your eyelids with the first notes of Simpla beleco by Erinaq and you wake up still confused inside the acoustic collages of Elhecho and Pablo Casares who is already a classic in this compilation. You decide to set the pace and get lost opening your arms to the world with Ánicoc’s piano; Odagled gets serious with ANMUROD‘s synthetic mid-tempo while Lüüü transcends his usual indie-lo-fi framework and decants the rhythmic to jungle refreshing Sandías en la orilla. Helecho Experimentar closes with a return to the nocturnal, noise-guitar via (free)-jazz and expired smoke in the conversation.
Once again, the art and design work of NUDO aka The Lacemaker, who also contributes with two of the photographic sequences, is essential. The photographic printing has been done at Estudio 4.11 (Málaga). Thanks again to Rubén Suárez for adjusting the sound level of the compilation. The sequencing of the tracks on the CD by kitty soul.
